Hitachi GST's Fabrik Acquisition Closes

Hard disk drive manufacturer Hitachi Global Storage Technologies announced Monday that its acquisition of Fabrik>b? is complete. Financial terms of the deal, which was originally reported Feb. 24, were not disclosed. Hitachi GST said Fabrik will form the core of Hitachi GST's new Branded Business division. Based in San Mateo, Fabrik is a privately held manufacturer of flash memory, USB hard drives, memory upgrades and other data storage products. Hitachi GST said Mike Cordano, Fabrik's co-founder and chief executive officer, has accepted a role at Hitachi GST as executive vice president of sales and marketing and president of its Branded Business unit. Founded in 2003 and headquartered in San Jose, Hitachi GST is a subsidiary of Tokyo-based Hitachi Ltd.
