McAfee Buys Solidcore
Santa Clara-based security software provider McAfee said Friday that it has agreed to acquire SolidCore Systems, a developer of enterprise change management software. McAfee said it would pay $33M in cash plus up to $14M in earnout for Solidcore. Solidcore will become part of McAfee's Risk and Compliance business. McAfee said that Solidcore was advised by Jefferies & Company, Inc., in the deal. Solidcore was based in Cupertino, and was venture backed by Matrix Partners, Menlo Ventures, Sevin Rosen Funds, and JAFCO Ventures.
