Greylock Ditches Boston HQ, Moves To Silicon Valley

Venture capital firm Greylock Partners said Tuesday that the firm is shifting its headquarters from the Boston area to Silicon Valley, and has leased a new office on Sand Hill Rd. According to Greylock, it will relocate its administrative and back office functions to Silicon Valley, with partner Don Sullivan also moving to the Bay Area to handle the firm's finance and administrative operations. In addition to the HQ move, Greylock said it will be adding new partners and "several new positions" at the new office. Reason for the move from Boston was not given, however, the firm said that the Boston office will remain a "key location" for the firm, and that it plans to continue to invest in the area.
