Intel Invests $43M In Japanese WiMax Provider
Santa Clara-based Intel Capital, the venture capital arm of Intel, said over the weekend that the firm has invested $43M in UQ Communications, a provider of WiMAX mobile services in Japan. according to Intel, UQ Communications is deploying a WiMAX network which will cover 90 percent of Japan by 2012. UQ said it will use the investent by Intel to expand its WiMAX service in Japan, which is set to launch July 1st.
