Zynga Claims Largest Social Game

San Francisco-based social gaming developer Zynga is claiming this week that it now hold the title of the largest social game "in history," with its Farmville game. The firm said it now has more than 11 million daily active users in the game, which allows users to create and manage their own virtual farms. The company said it has seen more than 1 million new daily active users a week on average to the game, which launched on June 19th. Zynga is venture backed by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, IVP, Union Square Ventures, Foundry Group, Avalon Ventures, Pilot Group, Reid Hoffman and Peter Thiel.
