Yammer Hit By Downtime
Online, corporate micro-messaging service Yammer was hit by widespread downtime and technical difficulties Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, which resulted in users not being able to reach the service. According to Yammer, it determined the problem was due to a hardware issue in its network switches. Yammer--a corporate takeoff of the Twitter micro messaging service--was started by David Sacks, one of the co-founders of PayPal. The firm won TechCrunch50's best of show last year.
