Texas Courts Facebook With Funds
The State of Texas is hoping that Palo Alto-based Facebook will open an office in Austin, with $1.4M in incentives for the company. According to an announcement by Texas Governor Rick Perry, the state has approved $1.4M through its Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) to convince Facebook to open a sales and operations office in Austin, Texas. The deal is contingent on other local incentives coming from the City of Austin. Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg said it has been exploring various options in the U.S. for the additional office. Sandberg did not say whether, or when an office location would be selected.
