Linden Lab Chops 30 Percent
San Francisco-based Linden Lab, the firm behind the Second Life virtual world, announced today that it has cut its staff by approximately 30 percent. The firm said the move was part of a "strategic restructuring" which will improve its geographic and cost efficiencies. Among the moves, Linden said it would consolidate its software development teams in North America, and change how it provides customer support. The firm said the moves would help it make Second Life "more accessible and relevant to a wider population."
