Robotex Gets $3.6M For Killer Robots
Palo Alto-based Robotex, a firm developing "killer robots" for the military, has raised $3.6M as part of an ongoing $6.0M funding round, according to a regulatory filing by the firm this week. The company, which is run by ex-PayPal software engineer Nathan Gettings, is developing gun-wielding robots designed to replace soldiers on the battlefield. Gettings robots include remotely controlled robots which are equipped with assault rifles. Source of the new funding was not disclosed. Gettings is also the CEO of Palantir Technology.
