Former HP Head Hurd Joins Oracle
Redwood Shores-based Oracle said today that it has added deposed HP head Mark Hurd as President of the firm. Oracle also said it has added Hurd to the firm's board. Hurd will report to Oracle CEO Larry Ellison. Ellison said, in a statement, that "Mark did a brilliant job at HP and I expect he’ll do even better at Oracle." The hiring came despite a high profile ousting of Hurd at HP. As part of the change, former Oracle president Charles Phillips has resigned as CEO, and also departed the board. Phillips apparently had been looking to leave Oracle since December.
