Blurb Expands Into Retail Pop-Up Store
San Francisco-based Blurb, which develops tools and an online service to allow users to publish their own, professionally printed books, has expanded into its first, retail effort with a "pop-up" store. According to Blurb, it is opening up a pop-up store in New York's SoHo neighborhood this month, between October 21st and October 31st. The company said the space will showcase the different kinds of project possible with blurb, an dinclude daily events and workshops. Pop-up stores take over retail spaces for temporary stores, and have been particularly popular in New York City, especially with companies looking to test their retail concepts. The pop-up is Blurb's first venture into the retail business; Blurb said that the store is a "huge deal" for the firm.
