JiWire Buys NearbyNow

San Francisco-based JiWire, a provider of location based advertising, said today that it has acquired Mountain View-basedNearbyNow, a developer of a location-enabled mobile platform. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. JiWire said the buy will accelerate its expansion, add additional location technology, and bolster its expertise in retail and mobile merchandising. NearbyNow was venture backed by Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Draper Richards, and Norwest Venture Partners.
