Google Updates Android Maps
Google said today that it has launched an update to its mapping product on Android, Google Maps 5.0 for Android. Among the updates, the firm said it has added new 3D support for those maps, using vector graphics to show 3D buildings and skylines. Google also said it has added better offline reliability when users have a flaky Internet connection, and is now proactively caching and storing large areas of a device based on a users' usage of maps. Finally, Google said it has added offline rerouting to the service.
