SpectraLinear Acquired By Silicon Laboratories

Santa Clara-based SpectraLinear, a developer of programmable clock ICs, has been acquired by Silicon Laboratories, a Texas-based maker of analog intensive, mixed signal ICs. Silicon Laboratories said it would pay $40M for SpectraLinear. SpectraLinear had been venture backed by Cypress Semiconductor, Horizon Ventures, Interwest Partners, Norwest Venture Partners, and Velocity Interactive/Comventures, and had raised around $30M in venture funding.
