Kleiner Backs Waste-To-Energy Firm
Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers has backed a German, waste-to-gas energy firm, Agnion Energy. According to fellow investor Waste Management, Agnion Energy received a round of funding from Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers, Munich Venture Partners, and Wellington Partners. Agnion, based in Germany, develops technology to convert biomass into synthetic gas (syngas), which can be used for heating and power, as a substitute for natural gas, or converted into other compounds.
