Yatown Launches With Angel Backing

Palo Alto-based Yatown, a new social networking startup focused on local neighborhoods, launched Wednesday, saying that it was backed by angel investors from Yahoo, Salesforce.com, TiE Angels, and others. Financial details of that seed funding was not disclosed. Yatown allows users to connect with neighbors via an online "town square". The firm was founded by former Google employees, and is headed by Christopher Nguyen, with co-founder Kevin Lim.
