OmniVision Buys Taiwanese Manufacturing Operation

Santa Clara-based OmniVision Technologies, which develops CMOS digital imaging products, said today that it has acquired the wafer-level lens production operations from Tawianese firm VisEra Technology Company, Ltd.. VisEra currently provides outsourcing of wafer-lens lens production and assembly for OmniVision. The deal was worth $45M in cash. OmniVision's CMOs imaging products are used in mobile phones, notebook, tablets, digital cameras, and other devices.
