Platfora Digs Up $5.7M
Palo Alto-based Platfora, a developer of Hadoop data analytics tools, said Thursday that it has raised $5.7M in a Series A funding. The funding was led by Andreesen Horowitz, and also included the CIA's investment arm, In-Q-Tel. Scott Weiss of Andreessen Horowitz joins the company's board. Platfora is developing business analytics softare for analyzing Hadoop clusters, including those from Cloudera, MapR, and Amazon EMR. The firm's CEO and founder is Ben Werther, who has previous experience at DataStax, Greenplum, and Microsoft.
