Udemy Lands $3M

San Francisco-based Udemy, the online provider of video-based courses on hobbies, technical, business, and other topics, said Wednesday that it raised $3M in a Series A funding round. The round was led by Lightbank, the venture capital firm founded by Groupon founders Eric Lefkofsky and Brad Keywell. Other backers in the round were MHS Capital and 500 Startups. Udemy said the funds will go towards bolstering its marketing and business development team. Udemy provides a site which features video courses, slides presentations, documents, and more on a wide variety of topics, which can be purchased by users. More information »
