Dropbox Picks Up $250M

San Francisco-based Dropbox, which operates an online service for sharing documents, photos, and video with others, said today that it has raised $250M in a Series B funding round. The round brings its total raised to $257.2M. According to the company, the round was led by Index Ventures, and also included Benchmark Capital, Goldman Sachs, Greylock Partners, Institutional Venture Partners, RIT Capital Partners, and Valiant Capital Partners. The funding also included earlier investors Sequoia Capital, Accel Partners, and Ali Partovi. The firm said the funding will go towards growth, acquisition, strategic partnerships, and new hires.
