Sandforce Acquired By LSI

Milpitas-based Sandforce, a developer of semiconductors used for flash-based storage, has been acquired by LSI in a deal worth $322M in cash. LSI said that the acquisition will enhance its competitive position in the server and storage, PCIe flash adapter market. LSI was already using SandForce's processors in its products.SandForce was venture backed by DCM, Storm Ventures, TransLink Capital, UMC Capital, Red Maple Ventures, Darwin Ventures, and Canaan Partners, along with LSI.
