GigaOm Buys paidContent

San Francisco-based GigaOm, the online technology news and analysis site started by Om Malik, has acquired paidContent.org, an online news site covering the business of content. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. paidContent was owned by Guardian New & Media, which acquired the site in 2008. According to paidContent, the combined group will now have more than 20 writers and editors on both the East and West coasts and in Europe. Guardian News & Media will take a stake in GigaOm as part of the acquisition, joining other investors Reed Elsevier Ventures, Alloy Ventures and True Ventures.
