AMD Completes SeaMicro Buy
Sunnyvale-based AMD has completed its acquisition of SeaMicro, the firm said Friday afternoon, in a deal worth approximately $334M net of cash assumed. AMD had announced its acquisition of SeaMicro in February. SeaMicro is a developer of specialized, high density servers for the data center market. AMD paid $293M in cash plus options to purchase approximately 6,475,000 AMD shares and the issuance of approximately 322,000 shares of AMD restricted stock in the deal. SeaMicro was venture backed by Crosslink Capital, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, and Khosla Ventures.
