ViVOtech Gets New Funding

Santa Clara-based ViVOtech, the developer of near field communications (NFC) mobile payment terminals and technology, said today that it has raised a first close in a Series D funding round. The amount of the funding was not disclosed, however, the firm said it has now raised $96M in total venture capital since it was founded. The round came from existing investors. Based on prior funding announcements, the Series D is worth around $20M. ViVOtech's prior investors are Alloy Ventures, Citi Ventures, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, EDBI (Singapore), First Data Corporation, Miven Ventures, Motorola Solutions Ventures , Motorola Mobility Ventures, Nokia Growth Partners, NCR, SingTel Innov8, and Sprint.
