Fulcrum BioEnergy Gets $105M Loan Guarantee

Pleasanton-based biofuels firm Fulcrum BioEnergy said Monday that it has been awarded a $105M loan guarantee from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The firm said the funding, combined with private equity, will fund construction of its municipal solid waste to renewable transportation fuel facility in Nevada. The plant is being developed to convert municipal solid waste into ethanol. Fulcrum Bioenergy is backed by Waste Management and others, and raised a $70M funding round in November of 2011.
