Fulcrum BioEnergy Lands Funding
Pleasanton-based Fulcrum Bioenergy, a developer of biofuels technology, has scored funding from Cathay Pacific Airways, the airline announced last week. Size of the investment was not disclosed. Cathay Pacific said it made a strategic equity investment in Fulcrum, to help it with its efforts to convert municipal solid waste into aviation fuel. The deal also includes a long term supply agreement from Fulcrum, to purchase 375 million US gallons of sustainable aviation fuel over 10 years, which represents around 2 percent of Cathay Pacific's current fuel consumption annually.
