MicroProbe Acquired By FormFactor

San Jose-based MicroProbe, a developer of wafer test equipment used for systems-on-a-chip testing, has been acquired by FormFactor. FormFactor said it will pay $100M in cash plus $16.8M in stock for MicroProbe's parent firm, Astria Semiconductor Holdings, which is venture backed by Flywheel Ventures, Intel Capital and Gemini Investors. The company said MicroProbe generated $87.3M in revenue for its fiscal year ended December 31, 2011. MicroProbe had approximately 360 employees worldwide.
