StorSimple Acquired By Microsoft
Santa Clara-based StorSimple, which develops backup and storage migration software, has been acquired by Microsoft. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. StorSimple was venture backed by Ignition Partners, Index Ventures, Mayfield, and Redpoint Ventures. The company had raised around $31.5M in funding. StorSimple's software handled storage and migration of data across primary storage, local backup and archive, and cloud storage services.
