Seagate Invests $40M in Virident
Cupertino-based Seagate has invested $40M in Virident Systems, the developer of flash-based, solid state storage products. The investment came as part of a strategic agreement, where Seagate will also offer up a line of line of flash-based PCIe solutions to its OEM and distribution partners designed by Virident. As part of the investment Seagate also adds a member to Virident's board of directors. Virident's other investors include Artiman Ventures, Cisco Corp., Globespan Capital Partners, Intel Capital, Mitsui & Co, Sequoia Capital, and Spansion. More information »
