Virident Acquired For $685M By Western Digital
Milpitas-based flash storage products startup Virident has been acquired by disk drive maker WD, in a $685M deal. According to Western Digital, it will pay $685M for Virident, which makes server-side flash storage technology. Virident was venture backed by Artiman Ventures, Cisco Corp., Globespan Capital Partners, Intel Capital, Mitsui & Co, Seagate, Sequoia Capital, Spansion, and others. WD was advised by RBC Capital Markets, and Virident was advised by BofA Merrill Lynch.
