Kongregate Launches $10M Game Development Fund
San Francisco-based Kongregate said today that it is launching a $10M fund, aimed at promoting independent game developers developing free-to-play games. According to Kongregate, the firm will offer distribution, financial assistance, consulting services and marketing support to developers as part of the new development fund, which will be headed by former Zynga general manager Panayoti (Pany) Haritatos. Kongregate's new fund is backed by parent firm GameStop, which acquired Kongregate in July of 2010.
