LinkedIn Buys Pulse

Mountain View-based LinkedIn said Thursday that it has acquired Pulse, the developer of the popular newsreading application. LinkedIn paid $90M for Pulse. LinkedIn said it would use the acquisition to help LinkedIn become the "definitive professional publishing platform" for news, "influencer" posts, industry updates, discussions, comments, and more. Pulse was founded in May 2010 by Akshay Kothari and Ankit Gupta.
