Silver Lake Raises $10.3 Billion For New Investment Fund
Menlo Park-based Silver Lake, the private equity firm which specializes in technology investments, said Thursday that it has closed on Silver Lake Partners IV, a $10.3 billion fund focused on large-cap technology investment. Silver Lake said the fund surpassed its initial target of $7.5 billion, and now brings the company's total capital under management to $23 billion. Silver Lake said that the amount for Silver Lake Partners IV is the largest amount, ever, raised for a technology investment fund. Silver Lake is currently in the midst of acquiring Dell Computer, in a partnership with Dell founder Michael Dell.
