Ayasdi Adds $30.6M For Big Data Insights
Palo Alto-based Ayasdi, a developer of "big data" software which uses machine learning to ferret out relevant data in those data streams, has raised $30.6M in a Series B round. The new funding came from Institutional Venture Partners, and also included Citi Ventures, GE Ventures, Khosla Ventures and FLOODGATE. As part of the funding, Steve Harrick of IVP has joined the company's board. Ayasdi is headed by Gurjeet Singh, and says its customers included General Electric, Citigroup, Merck, Anadarko, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), Mount Sinai Hospital, Texas A&M University, and Harvard Medical School.
