Cloudera Buys Myrrix

San Francisco-based big data software developer Cloudera, the developer of the Hadoop big data platform, has acquired Myrrix, a developer of machine learning software based on Apache Hadoop and Apache Mahout. Financial terms of the buy were not announced. Myrrix was based in London. According to Myrrix, its founder, Sean Owen, is joining Cloudera as its new Director of Data Science.
