BlueData Raises $15M For Big Data Software

Mountain View-based BlueData, a startup developing cloud-based, big data software, said today that it has raised $15M in a Series B funding. The funding was led by Ignition Partners, and also included Atlantic Bridge Ventures, Intel Capital, Amplify Partners and Data Collective. Angels Frank Slootman (ServiceNow), Eric Wolford (Riverbed), and Amarjit Gill (Maginatics) also participated. Blue Data was founded by Kumar Sreekanti and Tom Phelan, both previously at VMware.
