Transcriptic Gets $2.8M For Outsourced Lab Services

Menlo Park-based Transcriptic, which offers up outsourced lab experiment projects for genetic research, said this week that it has raised $2.8M more in funding. The funding came from IA Ventures, along with Google Ventures, Data Collective, Boost.vc and AME Cloud Ventures. Transcriptic lets clients specify specific PCR cloning, bacteria growth, geneotyping, and other related procedures and lets them monitor that via its own software, helping to offload some of the more labor intensive parts of genetic research.
