Google's Waze Deal Worth $1.15 Billion
The acquisition of Israeli navigation software developer Waze--which was announced in June of last year--was indeed worth $1.15 billion, according to Waze's CEO, Noam Bardin. Bardin confirmed the rumored acquisition price in a post on LinkedIn. Waze's team is now part of Google, working on Google's mapping products. Waze was venture backed by Horizons Ventures Hong Kong and Li Ka Shing, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers Digital Growth Fund and iFund, along with others.
