Atmel Sells Off XSense Business Line
San Jose-based Atmel said this morning that it has sold off its XSense touch sensor assets, to Unipixel, in a deal worth $16.25M in royalties over five years, with $9.33M upfront. According to Atmel, it has transferred its XSense related manufacturing assets to UniPixel, and licenssed its patent portfolio and other intellectual property to UniPixel. The deal is structured as a minimum royalty guarantee with the $9.33M serving as a prepayment of those royalties.
