Synopsys Buys Atrenta

Mountain View-based Synopsys said Sunday that it has signed a deal to acquire Atrenta, a provider of systems-on-a-chip (SoC) verification and implementation software. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Atrenta was venture backed by such investors as Investor Growth Capital, Samsung Ventures, Hercules Technology Growth Capital, Inc. Existing investors Venrock Associates, TL Ventures, Smart Technology Ventures, Investcorp Technology Ventures and Finaventures. Synopsys said it would integrate Atrenta's static verification and implementation technology into its Verification Continuum and Galaxy Design platforms.
