Veritas Acquired By The Carlyle Group In $8 Billion Deal
Mountain View-based Symantec said this morning that it has agreed to sell its data storage software business, Veritas, to The Carlyle Group. The deal is expected to close at the end of the year. The Carlyle Group, along with Singapore's sovereign wealth fund, GIC, will pay $8 billion in cash for Veritas. The deal comes nearly 10 months after Symantec said it planned to split its security and information management businesses.
