Datos IO Gets $15.25M For Cloud Databases

San Jose-based Datos IO said yesterday that it has raised $15.25M in a funding round, for the company's cloud-based database technology. The startup said the funding came from Lightspeed Venture Partners and True Ventures, along with angels. The funding was split between a $2.75M seed funding, and $12.25M in a Series A funding. John Vrionis of Lightspeed Venture Partners and Puneet Agrawal of True Ventures join the company's board with the funding. Datos IO was founded by Tarun Thakur and Prasenjit Sarkar, both of whom previously had been at such companies as Data Domain, Veritas, and IBM Research.
