The History Project Brings Seed Funding To $2M

Oakland-based The History Project, a developer of tools ot help users document personal history, has added new funding to its seed round, bringing its total raised to $2M, the company said last week. The funding said it added The Associated Press to the seed funding round, which was announced in November. That round also included The New York Times and Matter Ventures. As part of the funding, the company announced a new advisory board, which includes Jay Brown (Roc Nation), Dean Drako (Barracuda Networks, Eagle Eye Networks), Michael Chang (Legacy Republic), Hashem Montasser (Frontlane Capital), Giles Goodwin (Flite) and Danielle Simmons (forerly of Ancestry).
