Trimble Sells Unmanned Aircraft Biz
Sunnyvale-based Trimble said this morning that it sold its unmanned, aircraft systems business--based in Belgium--to Delair-Tech. Financial terms of the sale were not announced. Trimble's Beligum-based Gatewing Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS)< /b> engineering and manufacturing business will help it "tighten its corporate focus". Delair-Tech sells long range, fixed-wing unmanned aircraft which are used for industrial inspection and asset management. As a part of the sale, Trimble said it has entered into strategic alliances both with Delair-Tech and Microdrones, a German multirotor unmanned drone developer.
