Square Expands To The UK

San Francisco-based mobile payments provider Square announced this morning that it has launched into the United Kingdom, taking aim at the small and medium size business market. Square said that the UK is the fifth country where it is now available. Square also offers up its services in the U.S., Canada, Japan, and Australia. Square said that it is aiming at the estimated half of the UK's 5.4 million small businesses, who do not yet take card payments.
