Cisco Completes Viptela Buy
San Jose-based Cisco has completed its acquisition of software defined, wide-area-network (SD-WAN) developer Viptela, Cisco said this week. The deal, which was originally announced in May, was worth $610M in cash. Viptela was also based in San Jose. Cisco said the deal will help it expand its SD-WAN portfolio. Viptela becomes part of Cisco's Enterprise Routing team, which is part of Cisco's Networking and Security Business led by senior vice president David Goeckeler.
