Cisco Acquires Viptela For $610M

San Jose-based Cisco said Monday afternoon that it will acquired San Jose-based Viptela, a developer of software-defined, wide area network (SD-WAN) products. Cisco said it will pay $610M in cash and assumed equity awards for Viptela. Viptela will become part of Cisco's Enterprise Routing team, within its Networking and Security Business.
