Blue Bottle Coffee Acquired By Nestle

Oakland-based Blue Bottle Coffee, the high end specialty coffee shop retailer which is a favorite around the Bay Area, has been acquired by Nestle, Nestle said on Thursday. Financial details of the deal were not announced, however, reports say the deal is worth up to $500M. Blue Bottle Coffee is expected to have around 55 locations by the end of this year, says Nestle. Bryan Meeham will remain CEO of Blue Bottle Coffee, and founder James Freeman continues as Chief Product Officer.
