Bigstream Gets Series A For Big Data Acceleration

Mountain View-based Bigstream Solutions, a developer of multi-core CPU, FPGA- and GPU-based hardware acceleration technology for the "big data" area, has raised a Series A funding round, according to the company. The funding came from Cota Capital, Oriza Ventures, and Intel Capital. Bigstream says it allows users of Apache Spark and Kafka accelerate their code by a magnitude of performance without changing application code or using special APIs; the company's software handles the automatic programming of FPGAs to handle computations in hardware.
