Kapwing Collects $1.7M For Video Editing Software
San Francisco-based Kapwing, which develops online video editing software, said on Monday that it has raised $1.7M in a seed funding round. The funding was led by Kleiner Perkins and also included Shasta Ventures, Sinai Ventures, Village Global, Shrug Capital, and ZhenFund. Kapwing said the new funding goes towards product development and to fund growth activities. Kapwing targets its tool towards casual, non-professional video editors including consumers, students, and others with no video editing experience. The company's founders are Julia Enthoven, CEO, and Eric Lu, CTO, both of whom are former Googlers, having worked on Google Image Search.
